Peter was born into a musical and artistic family. His uncle, a member of the Royal Academy, is an internationally renowned abstract artist. During his school years Peter won many art prizes beforegoing on to study Architecture, Art and Interior Design. During his student years, Peter completed many commissions of portraits and animals and was a prize winner in the Arbroath Open Art Competition.
He then took up and became a prize-winning photographer, again carrying out many commissions. His work and love of home based travel has seen him amass a thirty-year catalogue of landscapes and animal life photography, particularly in the Scottish Highlands and Islands. With his return to painting this has seen him revisit and reuse this abundant source of subject matter as seen in his atmosphericmountainous landscapes.
Peter’s work is mainly executed in traditional watercolour, but he enjoys a freer abstract approach utilising acrylics, oils, charcoal, graphite and waterproof inks.
